Corrections log

When a figure, label or claim on this site turns out to be wrong, we fix it and record it here: what was wrong, what we changed and when. Most of these were found by our own checks.

To report an error, email info@priyalifescience.com or use the contact form, and name the page and the figure. How we handle corrections is set out in our editorial standards, and how each dataset is built is explained on the methodology page. This log covers corrections from August 2026 onwards.

Article: Leading CDMO Companies in Ireland

What was wrongA fact-check of 107 claims found 28 wrong, 6 outdated and 21 that could not be verified. The guide listed Wasdell's Dundalk plant, which closed in 2024; placed Thermo Fisher's Cork site in Ringaskiddy instead of Currabinny; described Hovione's equipment with text that belonged to another company; used an outdated tax rate (12.5% and a 6.25% Knowledge Development Box); ranked Ireland third in the world for pharma exports; and labelled sites "FDA approved", which the FDA does not do for facilities.
What we changedRemoved Wasdell (the guide now covers eight companies), corrected locations, figures, dates and ownership to published sources, replaced "FDA approved" with the regulator that actually licenses or inspects each site (HPRA, MHRA, FDA inspection), updated the Ireland facts (CSO exports of €138.6bn in 2025, 15% tax for large groups, 10% KDB), removed claims we could not confirm, and added the sources used. A correction notice sits at the top of the article.

Funding tracker

What was wrongThe header showed three figures with no stated source: "€2.1B+ Irish pharma exports monthly", "300+ life science companies in Ireland" and "90+ global pharma firms with Irish operations". The exports figure was well below the CSO's published monthly value.
What we changedReplaced with figures calculated from our own registers: the latest month of Irish pharmaceutical exports from CSO table TSM09 (€6.9bn in July 2026), and the number of Irish-registered companies of the groups in our company financials register (263, across 51 groups), each linked to its source.

Molecule lookup

What was wrongThe canonical SMILES field showed "N/A" for every molecule, because PubChem had renamed the property the page requested.
What we changedThe page now requests PubChem's current property (ConnectivitySMILES) and shows the value again.

Ireland clinical trials dashboard and Ireland register

What was wrongThe ClinicalTrials.gov search used a free-text location match, which also picked up studies outside the Republic of Ireland, such as sites with "Ireland" in their name elsewhere and sites in Northern Ireland. The dashboard counted 3,146 studies, of which 456 had no site in Ireland.
What we changedThe search now filters on the location country field, and a study is counted only when it lists an Irish site. The dashboard now covers 2,691 studies; the Ireland trials register went from 616 to 603.

EU clinical trials register

What was wrong41 trials whose CTIS status is "Not authorised" were listed among authorised trials, and several CTIS status codes were labelled imprecisely.
What we changedTrials that were not authorised are no longer listed, and every status label now matches the CTIS status code it comes from.

Drug approvals worldwide, FDA biosimilars and patent expiry

What was wrongThree matching errors in the first-approval data: name cleaning shortened some two-word substances (for example epoetin alfa), so a 2018 biosimilar appeared as the first US approval; insulin glargine showed a 2015 approval as first instead of Lantus (2000); and 17 of 94 biosimilars had no approval date. A discontinued product also gave metformin a patent expiry in 2035.
What we changedCorrected the name matching and date parsing, and excluded discontinued products from patent data. Epoetin alfa now shows Epogen (1989), insulin glargine shows Lantus (2000), and every biosimilar has its date.

Company profiles

What was wrongAn accuracy check of 1,419 profile items (leadership, products, sites, milestones) against their cited sources found 14 that did not hold up, including product lists that were therapy areas rather than products and an Irish site that had since been sold.
What we changedCorrected 4 items and removed 10. Every remaining profile item links to the source it was checked against, with the date of the check.

CDMO directory

What was wrongThe directory listed a Wasdell facility in Dundalk that closed in 2024, and several profiles overstated employee numbers or facility sizes, gave wrong addresses (HiTech Health, Cambrex Waterford) or used an unsourced investment figure (WuXi Biologics).
What we changedRemoved the closed facility, corrected figures and addresses to published sources, and removed claims we could not confirm.
