Sreepriya Prasannan, the Voice Behind Priya Life Science
Sreepriya Prasannan is a pharma and life science specialist based in Dublin, Ireland. She holds an MSc in Digital Transformation (Life Science) from Griffith College Dublin and a BSc in Botany from St. Berchmans College. With a background spanning pharmaceutical QA, digital transformation, GMP training and production operations, she brings a rare blend of scientific knowledge and digital expertise to Ireland's pharma sector.
After completing her MSc and working across pharmaceutical research centres in India and Ireland, Sreepriya identified a clear gap: Ireland's pharma and life science community had no open, accessible news platform of its own. Major publications were expensive to access, and professionals with valuable knowledge had no easy way to share it.
So she built one. Priya Life Science was founded with a single belief: knowledge in the life science sector should flow freely, and that every professional, student, researcher and company in Ireland deserves a platform to be heard.
Sreepriya is also the founder and pharma life science specialist behind this platform, driving its mission to give a voice to the entire Irish and global life science community.
Getting to Know Sreepriya
What inspired you to start Priya Life Science?
I noticed that professionals in Ireland's pharma and life science sector had incredible knowledge and experience but no dedicated open platform to share it. Everyone was posting on LinkedIn but there was no central home for Irish life science news and insights. I wanted to build that home and make it free for everyone.
Who is this platform for?
It is for anyone connected to life science. Pharma professionals, QA specialists, biotech engineers, MedTech workers, researchers, students, company founders, HR and recruitment teams. If you work in or study life science in Ireland, the EU or UK, this platform is for you. You can read articles, publish your own articles, and use our free professional tools.
What makes this platform different from other news sites?
Most pharma news platforms are written by journalists who cover the sector from the outside. We are built by someone inside the sector, for people inside the sector. Our writers are the professionals themselves. A QA manager writing about GMP changes, a student sharing their research, a company announcing a new product. That lived experience makes the content far more valuable.
What is your background in pharma?
I have a BSc in Botany and an MSc in Digital Transformation with a Life Science focus from Griffith College Dublin. I have worked as a project assistant in pharmaceutical research, focusing on quality content and GMP skills. I am also a certified GMP trainer and have completed programmes with Pfizer on molecule to market, and with Janssen on clinical research and regulatory compliance.
Why the focus on LinkedIn for life science professionals?
LinkedIn is the number one professional network for life science in Ireland and globally. But most pharma professionals do not know how to use it effectively. They have great expertise but struggle to present it online. That is why we built a dedicated LinkedIn section on this platform, with a free LinkedIn post formatter, profile building guides and career content specifically for life science professionals.
What is coming next for Priya Life Science?
We are building a dedicated LinkedIn section with guides on how to build your professional profile, create content, grow your network and use LinkedIn as a career tool in life science. We also plan to launch a LinkedIn course specifically for pharma and life science professionals in Ireland. And we will continue expanding our free tools including CV builder, salary checker and more.
