We want everyone to be able to read our news, guides and data registers, whatever device, browser setting or assistive technology they use. This page says what standard we work to, what we have tested, what still falls short, and how to tell us about a barrier.
We work to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, published by the W3C. "Partially conformant" means most of the site meets the standard, and the parts that do not yet are listed below under known issues.
The moon and sun button in the header switches every page between a light and a dark theme. Your choice is remembered on that device.
The headline and market tickers at the top of each page scroll on their own. The pause button at the end of the headline strip stops both, and they also stop while your mouse or keyboard focus is on them.
Every page starts with a "Skip to main content" link, and links, buttons and form fields show a visible focus outline when you tab to them.
Pages adapt to phone screens, and you can enlarge text with your browser's zoom. Articles can also be read aloud with the "Listen to Article" player.
We ran the axe-core 4.14 automated checker in Microsoft Edge against WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 A and AA rules on 33 pages: articles from across our archive, guides, the homepage, news, contact, policy pages, data registers, trackers and a company profile. Every page was checked twice, once in the light theme and once in the dark theme.
Automated checkers find only part of the barriers people meet. We have not yet completed a full review with screen readers such as NVDA or VoiceOver, or with people who use assistive technology every day. That is the next step, and this page will be updated when it is done.
A few articles first published on LinkedIn still contain images hosted by LinkedIn that no longer load, and their alternative text ("Article content") does not describe the image. We are replacing or removing these images.
Advertisements served by Google AdSense, map tiles on the Ireland pharma map, and the websites our registers link to are run by other organisations, and we cannot fix barriers inside them.
Some register tables have more columns than fit on a phone, so they scroll sideways inside the page.
The tools on our subdomains (the PDF tools and CV builder) and the sign-in areas for companies and contributors were not part of this review.
If something on this site is hard or impossible for you to use, email info@priyalifescience.com or use the contact form. Please tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you use. If you need an article or data in a different format, ask and we will do our best to provide it.
Fixes to factual content are recorded in our public corrections log.
