1. What was announced
Mergon Group said it "has completed the acquisition of Inmo Tech Limited", describing a deal that "adds specialist injection moulding expertise, an experienced team and a strong platform for further growth in healthcare." The company is registered with the Companies Registration Office as Inmo-Tech Limited (CRO no. 106909), and Elysian's release uses the hyphenated name.
Neither release gives a price, deal structure or advisers, and no jobs figure, rebrand or integration timeline was announced.
Stéphane Maravel, CEO of Mergon Group, said: "Inmo Tech has built a strong reputation for specialist injection moulding in healthcare, supported by deep technical knowledge and a committed team. The business is an excellent strategic fit for Mergon."
Brendan Cunningham, General Manager of Inmo Tech, said: "Joining Mergon Group is an important new chapter for Inmo Tech. Mergon shares our commitment to customers, quality and technical excellence. Its scale, resources and international experience will support the continued development of the business while providing a strong home for our employees and customers."

3. What Inmo Tech brings
According to its website, Inmo Tech runs more than 20 injection moulding machines from 50 to 200 tonnes, all fitted with robots, alongside a Class 100,000 cleanroom, a quality, metrology and testing lab and a mould-modification shop. Services include IQ/OQ/PQ validation, scientific moulding with cavity-pressure monitoring, mould maintenance and prototype parts.
Those pages date from 2023, so equipment counts may have changed. Inmo Tech has not published customer names or headcount.
4. Why Mergon wants it
Mergon said the deal is intended "to strengthen its healthcare capabilities and support its long-term growth ambitions in the sector", and that Inmo Tech brings "complementary injection moulding expertise, an established manufacturing facility and a highly experienced team." Inmo Tech will be able to draw on the group's "engineering, automation, product development, project management and global manufacturing capabilities."
James Cunningham, partner at Elysian, said: "We are pleased to support the acquisition of Inmo-Tech which is the second bolt on since we invested in Mergon. The first, Mergon UK, demonstrated management's ability to extend the geographic reach of the business while Inmo-Tech shows the opportunities to build out in a sector." Mergon UK began as Weltonhurst Ltd, a Blackburn blow moulder bought in 2022.
5. What it means for medtech manufacturing in the West and North-West
The deal brings an Irish-founded contract moulder into an Irish-headquartered group. A single-site Sligo supplier joins a group that already serves large healthcare customers in Europe and North America. Mergon has ties to the Irish medtech sector: its former CEO, Pádhraic McGinn, was elected Chair of the Irish Medtech (Ibec) Board in 2024.
Sligo already has some precision moulding for medtech. In 2019 GW Plastics announced more than 200 jobs at a Sligo site focused on surgical components, diagnostic devices and drug delivery, with IDA Ireland support, Silicon Republic reported. That is a 2019 figure.
The local impact is not yet known. Mergon has given no headcount, investment plan or timeline for the site, and we found no IDA Ireland or Enterprise Ireland involvement. A "150 new jobs" figure linked to this deal online actually comes from Mergon's 2022 Mexico plant announcement.

Headcount, investment and plans for the Enniscrone site have not yet been published. We will update this article if Mergon announces them.
