Artificial intelligence Diagnostic Model: An artificial intelligence model trained to analyze digital photographs/radiographs to automatically classify and diagnose the stages of periodontal disease

this study aims to use AI to diagnose the stages of gingivitis

Inclusion Criteria: * patients in both genders within age range of 15-50 years * smokers patients * patient treated for stable systemic disease Exclusion Criteria: * pregnant women to avoid risk of panoramic x-ray * patient with active systemic diseases * patient taking antibiotics * patient receiving anticancer therapy * patient with excessive gingival hyperplasia and with extensive melanin pigmentation

Primary outcome measure(s)

  • Diagnostic Accuracy of the AI model — during the baseline clinical and radiographic assessment
    The primary outcome is to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of the AI model in detecting and staging periodontal disease compared to clinical/radiographic expert diagnosis.
