Study summary

To compare clinical and molecular effects of nutritional support (immunonutrition or EPA-DHA enriched oral nutritional supplements) in patients with cancer undergoing surgery.

Inclusion Criteria: * Patients with cancer undergoing surgery (primary tumor location; gastrointestinal tract, ovarian, peritoneal carcinomatosis) Exclusion Criteria: * End-stage liver disease * End-stage kidney disease

Primary outcome measure(s)

  • Body composition changes — 1-3 months
    changes in fat mass, fat-free mass, lean mass and phase angle
