early transcriptomic markers: during a scheduled surgery before the age of 4 years, collection of a blood sample (2.5 mL in a PAXgene tube) and two adipose tissue fragments, each measuring 5 mm x 5 mm x 5 mm. tracking of weight and height curves from birth to age 6
Metabolic diseases, including childhood obesity, represent a major public health challenge. Studies in mice have identified transcriptomic markers in adipose tissue capable of predicting a predisposition to obesity prior to any weight gain. The MARIOBE project aims to translate this approach to young children (≤ 4 years old) in order to identify individual vulnerability to obesity at an early stage.
