Company Overview

Atlantia Clinical Trials is a contract research organisation based at Blackpool Retail Park in Cork. It grew out of APC Microbiome Ireland at University College Cork and was registered in Ireland in October 2011 as Atlantia Food Clinical Trials Limited, later trading as Atlantia Clinical Trials. Chief executive and founder Andrea Doolan has led the company since the start. It runs human intervention studies in-house for food, nutraceutical, cosmetic, medical device and pharmaceutical sponsors, with work spanning gut and microbiome, immune, metabolic, cognitive and women's health, and it operates a human performance laboratory. A second clinic opened in Chicago in 2019. The company holds ISO 9001 certification. ClinicalTrials.gov lists more than 50 studies that name Atlantia as sponsor or collaborator, most of them with a site in Cork. In 2026 it secured investment to expand into medical device and at-home digital health studies.
