The Stamp 2 Visa

Non-EEA students coming to Ireland to study a full-time degree require a Stamp 2 student visa. This permission allows you to stay in Ireland for the duration of your studies.

  • Register with the GNIB/ISD upon arrival.
  • Requires proof of fee payment and medical insurance.
  • Must show proof of finances (€10,000 required).

Working While Studying

Under the Stamp 2 visa, international students are legally permitted to work part-time to support themselves and gain valuable experience.

  • 20 Hours: Maximum per week during term time.
  • 40 Hours: Maximum per week during holidays (June-Sept, Dec 15 - Jan 15).

Stamp 1G (Post-Study Work)
